SEO Case Study #002 | Helping A Legal Niche Blog Make It Big!

So here we go again. This case study is super close to my heart because I started working on this project in 2019 when I was just a VA. By VA I mean I was doing menial jobs for the client, like posting articles on WordPress, etc.

Humble Beginnings

It was September 2019, I was recovering from clinical depression and there was this client who wanted writers for his set of websites which included a legal niche website which we will discuss in this post.

At that time, since I had only started out, I used to get paid $1.5 per 1000 words (yes you read it right, $1.5 per 1000 words).

He offered me $4 per 1000 words. Which was like a dream come true for me.

Early Setbacks

So, while the pay was good, the client didn’t like my writing. But he was all cool with my content publishing skills.

And I kept doing this till March 2020. This is when I started to put together a team of writers from Kenya, Nigeria and Philippines together.

I made him an offer. I would offer him premium quality handwritten articles at the rate of $7 per 1000 words. He readily agreed. The writer whom we can call Franz did a decent job and I started to get some passive income too.

Keyword Research Begins With Free Ahrefs

This was around June 2020, this is when I read a thread on an SEO forum about keyword research and someone shared a simple yet effective technique of finding question based keywords from Ahrefs free keyword research tool.

I started out on keyword research as well now. Traffic started pouring in and we made it to 50 odd organic visitors per day.

Migrating To Premium Ahrefs

At that time, I had another client who used to order content from me, he gave me a demo of how to buy Ahrefs from group buy SEO tools site and then use it effectively.

I was now using Ahrefs premium for my keyword research. The advantage of doing this was that I had access to more number of keywords than the FREE version.

Rankability Check With Moz Bar

Come early 2021, another member of a forum introduced me to Mozbar. This tool helped me in finding easy-to-rank keywords.

I will surely share more details regarding how to use this tool and other tools in my upcoming blogs.

Current Analytics/ Results

As of July 9, 2024, the Google Analytics stats of the blog/ website are as follows.
